Who We Are

MCBcDNA is a student organization supported by the MCB Department. We serve the needs of the Molecular and Cell Biology undergraduate community, providing our peers with the resources for success.

What We Do

As a club, we provide a liaison between student and faculty members through a variety of organized events and workshops. Our events are open to ALL MAJORS, so don't worry if your major isn't MCB.

Letter of Recommendation & Resume Workshop

Featuring Dr. Robert Beatty

Applying to graduate school, medical school, internships, research programs, or jobs? Want a strong recommendation letter from your professor and a resume that will land you the acceptance?

Then come out to MCBcDNA’s Recommendation Letter and Resume Advice Event!

Professor Robert Beatty will be explaining the process of asking for a letter of recommendation: how to ask, who to ask, when to ask, what to provide, and everything else you need to know to get that strong letter, as well as key points the scientific industries are looking for in a resume (which are different from traditional business-style guidelines!).

As a faculty member with industrial connections and someone who has written countless letters, Professor Beatty offers an invaluable point of view on how professors decide who to write letters for and how companies select their employees.

We will be having a 1-on-1 resumé workshop after the talk with MCB students who have been selected for research positions and biotech internships at companies like Plexxikon and Carmot Therapeutics, so feel free to bring your resumé for 1-on-1 advice!

Food will be provided. See you there!
